      After a very successful 2008 breeding season the Casa Canary Show Team was hoping to repeat last years success in the show arena. This past week it looks as though that hope, anticipation, and hard work has paid off once again. The results are in from our first show of the season and The Casa has once again reigned supreme.  The Casa won BEST IN SHOW for type canaries for the second consecutive year.  A very special heavily variegated corona cock earned such a highly coveted award. The competition was tough this year at the FBBA Bird Show. For the type bird division there were 163 entries and 835 canary entries overall. No less impressive however, was the debut of The Casa Canary Stafford's. A team of four Stafford Canaries were entered, two crested Staffords, and two plain head Staffords. Over 85 Stafford Canaries were exhibited in the show. Among the exhibitors were highly renowned breeders, such as Carl Biers and John Cromwell. The Casa Stafford's won BEST CRESTED STAFFORD, and BEST PLAIN HEAD STAFFORD.  This was without a doubt a very special debut for the Casa Canary Staffords. We have focused our efforts in trying to breed and raise the highest quality Gloster Canaries possible, and now we look forward to adding the Stafford Canaries to the pursuit of this never ending passion.
