The Nationals at Jacksonville were without a doubt our main goal for 2010. Unfortunately the show was cancelled leaving us at the Casa very disappointed. However, we did not allow that to affect our outlook on the potential of our stock for the upcoming show season. And proud to report we have once again had a very successful 2010 show season.

Our first show was in Punta Gorda Florida at the Suncoast Canary and Finch Club. Under type judge Armando Lee a beautiful 3/4 variegated corona hen won best Gloster, and then continued on to win best type bird in show.

At the next show (2nd) the Florida Bird Breeders Association Show (FBBA) a 1/4 variegated corona was voted best corona in show by judge Bonnie Cane. This same bird then moved on to capture best in show honors defeating over 270 birds in the process. Less than a month later at the Color Bred Canary Club (CBCC) with 98 Glosters in attendance another one of my 3/4 dark corona hens was crowned best gloster. Once again the Casa won Best in Show by judge and long time gloster breeder Mr. Patt Varian of Massachusetts. He later commented on the winner by saying “these birds have an amazing feather finish, Great job Freddy”.

On a side note the three Best in Show winners held by this years Casa Show Team were won by three different birds. The best part about it is that these three birds all came out of the same nest.
